Do you have a baby on the way or know someone who does? If you’re wondering the best time to host a baby shower, we’re here to share our advice. As experienced moms who have been through this, we have our favorite tips for you!!

When it comes to answering this question, the best part is… there’s no right answer!! Whether you want to do it early on or closer to the due date, that’s your choice! Ultimately, the timing of your baby shower depends on what works for you, your family and the person hosting the event.

But if you’re still sitting there thinking “okay Shannon, I get it, but I still want to know a good general time frame for when most people do it!” I get that, here’s some advice…

Many moms will say that early to mid third trimester is the best time, normally between 28-34 weeks.

Typically most moms say, at that point, they are showing and have their registry set up, but they aren’t too close to their due date to where they are feeling overly tired.

It’s also important to think through how much time you’ll have after the shower. You want to give yourself enough time to finish writing thank you notes, unpacking and organizing gifts and buying last minute things you didn’t receive before baby. And of course, there is always a chance baby could come early so having some buffer time can normally help give you some peace of mind.

But again, in the end, it really comes down to what works best for you, your partner and your guests! Setting a date on your calendar early can help too so you don’t feel as if you’re struggling to find a date last minute. You’re pregnant, trust us, you don’t need that extra stress! We’ve found it always helps to be as prepared as possible as early as possible 😉
