This is really where we recommend starting when it comes to party planning. Really everything else stems from the theme, so picking a theme you (& your child!) love is a great first step. Here’s a few ways to help narrow it down:

• First, start with 3-5 of your child’s interests. Think about what lights your little one up… their favorite toys, movies, sports, animals, or foods. Anything that makes them unique is a good starting point!

• Next, think about your budget for the party. This should help you to eliminate options and narrow the field. For example, if you’re choosing between a video game-themed party at an arcade or a superhero theme in a park, you may wish to select the cheaper venue.

• Then, consider the time of year the party is taking place. It’s essential to consider what will work best with the weather and that all or at least most of the guests can participate. For example, a pool party in the winter isn’t the best idea 😉

• Finally, if your child is old enough… let them make the final decision!! This will build excitement and make your little one feel valued and special, which is the whole point of a birthday party anyways, right?!
